What are your thoughts on crafting with leather? Yea or nay?
Lots of crafty love,
When making a sandbag for metal forming I found leather straightforward to stitch although I would recommend a thimble for pushing the leather needle through.

I have seen a specialist tool called a speedy stitcher for working with thicker thread but I don’t know what that’s like to use.
Thanks for sharing your project! Yeah with a thimble and strong needle leather is OK to stitch. The hole punch is great for getting perfect holes for things like key fobs. I’ve yet to try sewing leather with my sewing machine, but apparently the right machine needle will do the job!
Thanks for this cool round up Anna. I have a big box of leather scraps from our local satchel maker. He lets people have scraps for free if you ask nicely!
Thanks Claire! It’s funny how one person’s scraps can be another person’s make! x
