Midweek inspiration: what I’m reading
January is always a prolific month for crafty bloggers, it seems. The quiet lull of December is followed by a burst of activity, and it makes for fantastic reading! It’s so much fun gobbling up the energy we’re all feeling the first days into the New Year.
Articles this week
— Crochet is Trendier Than Knitting in Recent Years on Crochet Concupiscence
This clever article takes a quick dive into crochet’s trendiness of the last few years, comparing it to knitting and sewing. Guess which is trendiest? Yep, the title says it all! Surprised? Just go look at the pretty charts showing it off!
— Easy Peasy Granny Crochet Cowl Pattern on Bee & Buzz
Words can’t do this one justice. Go check out this lovely free crochet pattern! It’s so cute and colourful. Who doesn’t want a warm, bright cowl to cozy up with after all this rain?!
— Time to get stitching for #imapiece on Craft Blog UK
(If you haven’t read Craft Blog UK or checked out its massive UK craft blog directory, you’re missing out.) The ‘I’m a piece’ / #imapiece campaign is working on a fabric jigsaw installation, to raise awareness for Save the Children’s Race Against Hunger. Long story short, you could make a simple jigsaw piece (they give you a template! it’s that easy!) to add to everyone’s efforts. When the project is complete, you can say, #ImAPiece of the solution. Are you cool enough to take part? ;) You have until February 28th, 2013!
… There you are, three meaty reads, with two free patterns to start working on. One project even supports a greater cause! No complaints about that. ;)
What are you working on this week? I’m about to get back to my crochet project – I’ll have a sneak peak up soon!
With crafty love,
