Sarah from Munch (Giveaway!)

munchTo celebrate National Stationery week, I’m posting daily with stationery related goodies. In the spirit of Getting Britain Writing I thought, why not support the work of small British stationery designers? Supporting local matters.

For Earth Day I shared the work of eco-conscious designer Gabrielle Treanor of The Green Gables. Yesterday, I featured Emily Summers from Miss Magpie Designs with her wildlife-inspired illustrations.

Today, I’m sharing the contemporary and bold stationery of Munch. As a stationery addict, I’m a bit of a collector of notebooks. And I’m in love with Sarah’s designs!

Sarah started Munch with a collection of beautiful tweed appliquéd cushions. Overtime her designs have branched out. Her twitter tag line is simple but sums up where her work has gone: ink, paper, cloth. Other than beautiful notebooks, Munch has a line of matching wrapping papers. Sarah has her beautiful designs available on tea towels and mugs as well.

Sarah’s style is simple but bold, with clear lines and wonderfully earthy colours. Her work has been featured in Country Living’s Emporium section and in The Sunday Telegraph. Sarah says she wants to make fun colourful accessories for the home, and I think she nails it. I feel right at home with her somewhat quirky designs.

The Munch Wood originals in Sarah’s shop are well worth a look, too. 10% of the sales go to the RSPB, so you can feel good about your home looking pretty!

I asked Sarah, ‘What is your favourite thing about stationery?

Since I was young I have always had a love of stationery whether it be pens, pencils or paper. Perhaps as children we all love it as it gives us the tools to express ourselves as well as endlessly writing our name! Strange as it may sound I have always noticed the smell of stationery, opening a new box of pencil crayons or newly printed paper seems to bring a smile to my face. I feel fortunate to have been able to produce some stationery for Munch, the possibilties seem never-ending with all the different textures, colours and weights of paper, I have only scratched the surface really.”

I was lucky enough last week to win Sarah’s Fox notebook in a giveaway. The beautiful design and the quality of the binding are amazing. Enter Sarah’s giveaway to win a pack of her paper goods. You have until Friday to email her at munchstuff@fsmail.net to enter. Good luck!

Tomorrow I’ll be back with a yummy tutorial. Any stationery-related guesses?

All the best, Anna
