This time of year my favourite way to cosy up is with a cup of tea and the latest copy of Country Living. All the better if I can do so in bed!
A mug cosy helps keep your beverage warm and prevents your hands from burning on the hot ceramic. Better yet, it looks good! This pattern is perfect practise for knitting cables. The rest of the stitches are simple, so you can concentrate on practising a new technique.

Craft challenges can be a lot of fun. In my case, I was challenged to use these two little parrots.

Shopping time!
With three sewing projects on the go I had to restock my stash before I could finish project #1—a cover for my 2015 diary. I love local independent shops, but midnight inspiration means midnight shopping. Cue online shops that never close!

My yarn stash is slowly outgrowing the shelf I have it in. It’s time for a clear out. And every maker knows a ‘clear out’ starts off with good intentions and ends with piles of new projects. In the spirit of NOT actually clearing out when I needed to, I repurposed some of my lonelier yarn scraps into a crafty (and useful) decoration.
Moving things around in the same room counts for effort, right?
All I needed was something pretty to display my scraps in! This jar is the result. And I’m sharing my tips on using glass markers, one beginner helping another! Free heart printable included.
