Jumping into April
Another month, another new craft!
This April I’m hoping to learn the ins-and-outs of stamping.
Like most of us I’ve used store-bought rubber stamps with store-bought ink. This month I want to explore further than that. I want to make my own stamps.
A quick test run with a wine cork and acrylic paint.
This will be a fun month exploring different stamp materials (potatoes, rubber and more), and I want to try fabric stamping, too. For such a deceptively simple technique there’s so much to try out. I can’t wait to get my hands dirty!
Wish me luck,
Coming up in April:
– Stamping DIYs and inspiration
– Some exciting press!
– Gardening goodness
– Photography tips

Have you seen the book by Lotta Jansdotter? Great printing book, you should check it out
Oh, I love Lotta Jansdotter’s work but I didn’t know she had a book on printing too! Thanks for the heads up, Sue :)
Definitely second that about Lotta Jansdotters work. I love the look printing gives so can’t wait to see what you do. I’ve printed with bubble wrap recently, but it is quite a few years since I have tried with a potato!
Her book is definitely on my to-read list! (If anyone else is interested, you can view it on Amazon here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lotta-Prints-Anything-Potatoes-Linoleum/dp/081186037X )
Choosing a craft this month was difficult but I finally chose stamping because it really does look fantastic. It’s so versatile. I’m working on ways to combine it with previous crafts of the month, too. Printing and embroidery is top of the list!
I love your blog! I am looking forward to reading how your stamping goes this month! I have always wanted to try it and maybe I will!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying my adventures. So far stamping has been fun and a bit messy, at least with acrylic paints. I’ll be posting about it soon :)
